The Detroit Hoops League is a co-ed neighborhood-based basketball league, bringing together
teams across the city to play and compete for the love of the game.

In its first two seasons, the Detroit Hoops League organized and ran a successful indoor winter league
and outdoor summer league with 8 neighborhood teams. The Detroit Hoops League has established
community relationships with the Osborn Matrix Center Gym, Belle Isle & Jam Handy. For our summer season, Detroit Hoops League partnered with ComePlayDetroit, the Department of Natural Resources, and the State of Michigan. Belle Isle provided the perfect place to hoop, network, and build stronger bonds between teammates. In addition, the DHL started a weekly clean-up at various outdoor basketball courts in different neighborhoods each week throughout the summer season.

Currently, our 8 neighborhood teams include: Cass Corridor, Corktown, Downtown, Lafayette Park, Midtown, North Corktown, North End, Villages.

After starting on a shoestring budget with the goal of keeping the league affordable and accessible, the Detroit Hoops League is looking to expand its reach and is seeking the support of sponsors to help the league grow to its full potential. This is an opportunity to connect with a large local audience and back a community initiative in a meaningful and interactive way.
